Bleary-eyed Christina Aguilera's mugshot released... as friends urge her to seek rehab

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Candid camera: Christina Aguilera's mugshot has been revealed following her arrest yesterday for public intoxication

A pale, and bleary-eyed Christina Aguilera stares directly into the camera in her mugshot after her arrest for public intoxication.

The 30-year-old singer was taken in by police around 2.45am yesterday morning because she 'was not capable of taking care of herself' a Los Angeles Sheriff's spokesman has said.

And now Aguilera's booking photo has been revealed, showing the mother-of-one shortly after she was taken into custody.

It comes as reports in the U.S. media claim friends have been encouraging Aguilera to enter rehab for some time.

'Her drinking is out of control,' an Aguilera source tells America's Us Weekly. 'She's a total mess.'

Mugshot: The musician and production assistant was pulled over by police after driving erratically

A surreptitious photo of the mugshot was posted on website E! News as LA Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said it will not be released to the public as she will not face charges.

Aguilera was driven home from the West Hollywood police station at 7.30am yesterday morning after being released from police custody.

Her boyfriend Matthew Rutler, 25, left jail on $30,000 bail after being arrested for driving under the influence.

Aguilera a passenger in the car driven by Rutler who was observed driving dangerously, and when stopped by officers, the petite singer was unable to stand by herself.

Us Magazine claims the former Disney star has been caught up in numerous alcohol-fuelled drama in recent months.

She was allegedly involved in an heated argument with her mother Shelly Kearns on New Year's Eve.

'Christina then yelled "Who do you think you are?" It was crazy!'
She was also reported to have passed out drunk in Jeremy Renner's bed after turning up uninvited to his star-studded birthday party at his Beverly Hills home on January 8.

Steve Whitmore, the chief public information officer for the Los Angeles Sheriffs department said of her arrest:

'They [police] witnessed a person driving erratically,' Whitmore said.
'At 2.45am this morning a gentleman was stopped for allegedly driving under the influence.

'He was subsequently arrested and his passenger, Ms Aguilera, she was arrested.
'It was kind of a unique situation with this law as she was not capable of taking care of herself. She was incapacitated.

'When she got out of the car, she couldn't stand. We had to help her stand," he added.

'She didn't know where she was and she didn't know her own address.
'We took her into custody for her own protection.

'She was co-operative and she was not belligerent in any way whatsoever. She was just intoxicated.'

Day out: Christina's ex Jordan Bratman was seen taking their son Max to the park yesterday afternoon in Santa Monica

Whitmore said the Sheriff's department had no intention of pressing charges on the singer but noted that she would have an arrest record.

Aguilera began dating Rutler in November last year just two months after she split from her husband of five years, Jordan Bratman.

The former couple have a three-year-old son, Max.

Press conference: Steve Whitmore, the chief public information officer for the Los Angeles Sheriffs department, said the singer was 'incapacitated' when she was taken in by police

After the news of Aguilera's arrest broke, Bratman distracted little Max by taking him to the park in Santa Monica.

Aguilera and Rutler had met months earlier on the set of her movie Burlesque, which co-starred singing legend Cher.

Sobering experience: Rutler collected his car from an impound yard in Los Angeles after being released from custody

Aguilera, who was listed at 5'2" and 100lbs on her booking sheet, was allowed to leave the station early yesterday morning after proving she was able to make her own way.

The arrest is the latest in a series of publicly humiliating moments for the singer.
She was forced to apologise after mixing up the words to the National Anthem during her Super Bowl performance on February 6.

She then tripped and fell to the ground while taking part in an all-star tribute to R&B legend Aretha Franklin at the Grammy Awards on February 13.

Meanwhile, pregnant singer Pink posted a less than supportive tweet on the arrest on her Twitter page.

She told fans: 'Out of Myself, Britney, and Christina - didn’t everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker? LOOK MA!!! No CUFFS!!'

"It all started because I am so inspired by my fans...you all have more heart and soul than anything I've ever experienced before and it humbles me on a daily basis. I never cease to smile when I see a fan singing along to a song of mine either at a show or on YouTube, with so much energy and heart. It's the coolest feeling in the world."

She explains more, "This video is about my journey as an artist who looks up to the people around them. This is about being a fan of people who take chances, who are fearless, who have integrity, and go off into the world saying yes to what's around them. It's filled with some of the people in my life who do that everyday. They have impacted my world and are not only incredible artists, but great friends as well. They all worked this giant favor into their very busy lives and helped me out more than I can say."

Kristina & the Dolls' 'Be Mine' Video From 'Beastly'

Kristina & the Dolls' music video in support of "Beastly" theme song "Be Mine" has hit the web. The clip is a mix of the band's performance scene and random footage from the Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer-starring movie.

"The song is obviously about love, but it has a way deeper meaning. It's not just a crush, or a fair weather love. It's about the desperation and obsession behind love. The heart wrenching side of love," Kristina Allison told PopEater.

"It's the love that you'd do anything for, and it's about finding that person who gives you shelter from the world. If you listen to the lyrics, they really give a visual description of the lengths a person would go to for the one they love."

"Beastly" is due in U.S. theaters on March 4. It's a story of a handsome but spoiled, shallow high school student (Alex Pettyfer) who is physically transformed by a witch into someone as unattractive on the outside as he is on the inside. It will follow him in a seemingly-impossible task, that is finding true love to break off from the spell.
